Meetings & Events USA’s president, Sandy Reynolds, CMP, along with Charles J. MacFarlane, FACHE, CAE, Vice President, Learning for the Joint Commission Resources, taught Association Forum’s Association 101: Orientation for Association & Nonprofit Professionals program. The class covered the essentials of association management from an issue-by-issue format and through a case study so students could apply what they were learning during the class. Topics included what kinds of meetings associations hold, why the meetings are valuable, an overview of the process of education and meeting planning, who is involved in the meetings, relevant legal, finance and information system components, marketing and communications strategies, and the day to day life of education and meeting planning staff.
