Sandy Reynolds, CMP, Meetings & Events USA President, teaches Essentials of Meeting Planning at Association Forum with co-presenter William R. Host, CMP Assistant Professor of Hospitality & Tourism Management at Roosevelt University.
The ½ day class is meant to strengthen knowledge of meeting planning for individuals in the beginning stages of their meeting planner specialization and others that frequently work with the meeting planning department. Topics include principles of meeting management, meeting formats, planning tools such as checklists and timelines, budgeting guidelines, RFP creation and contract interpretation and negotiation, pre-meeting and on-site logistics, event specifications and post-meeting coordination.
“A solid understanding of the fundamentals of meeting planning is key to the success of any meeting planner and greatly facilitates the flow of communication interdepartmentally when those on the periphery gain insight into the daily functions of the process,” said Sandy Reynolds, CMP. “It is always a pleasure to share the information I have learned in my 15 years of meeting planning for associations and corporations and I also appreciate learning from the stories and experiences of my students.”
